It isn't AI
A lot of "AI coaches" are chatbots, which can sound confident and still be wrong. Ours isn't. It's a program we wrote by hand that does the maths of blackjack. It doesn't guess, it doesn't make things up, and it gives the same answer every time, with the numbers to show why.
The other players at the table aren't AI either. They're simple bots, each with a habit (some play by the book, some never bust, some play like the dealer) so you can see what those habits cost.
How it decides
Blackjack is a solved game: for every hand against every dealer card, one move loses the least, or wins the most, on average. The coach works out the average result of each move you're allowed to make, for your cards, the dealer's up card and the table's rules (number of decks, whether the dealer hits soft 17, surrender, what blackjack pays).
It uses the same method basic strategy charts are built on, so its advice matches the strategy chart for your table's rules. When you pick a different move, it tells you what that move gives away on average, in chips.
The card count, if you switch it on, is the standard Hi-Lo count: it adds and subtracts as cards are dealt and shows the running and true count. It's there to practise counting; it doesn't change the coach's basic-strategy advice. The few plays that do change with the count are taught in the lessons and the index drill.
Your information
- The coach runs in your browser. Your cards aren't sent to us or anyone else to work out advice, and no AI company ever sees your hands.
- It doesn't learn from you. Nothing you play changes its advice for you or anyone else.
- Your stats are yours. If you sign in, we save your session results so you can see your progress and your blindspots. Download or delete them at any time from your account page. If you don't sign in, nothing is saved on our side.
- Human coaches are different. If you invite someone with your private coach link, that person sees your cards while they coach you. You choose who, and you can end it any time.

It's a practice tool
Perfect basic strategy still loses a little over time: the house keeps a small edge. The coach helps you stop giving away more than that. It uses play money only and nothing here guarantees results.
